MADISON, Ala., May 5, 2008 – Somerset Group, an Inergi company, is providing animations for ABC’s “Seven Wonders of America” special programs for May on “Good Morning America.” Somerset Group has been a media developer for the National Park Service for the last ten years. In 2006 Somerset completed the media for the new Badlands National Park Visitor Center in South Dakota. Included in this project were several interactive touch screen kiosks and animations that interpret the Badlands for visitors.
"We are thrilled to see several of our magnificent national parks featured in GMA's story, and we hope this inspires people to experience them personally,” stated Dr. Carol Rives, President of Somerset Group. "We have been working with the National Park Service for over a decade now, and to have our work contribute to a better understanding of the Badlands National Park is exciting for our small company."
"We have had the opportunity to interpret the total spectrum of the American experience for countless visitors through interactive media,” said Donald Dickey, Creative Director of Somerset Group. "We have had the opportunity to see and be involved with everything from natural history, like the Badlands National Park, to the Civil Rights movement, all the way through space science. Working with the National Park Service for the last ten years has always presented creative challenges that our team thrives on to push the envelope of technology for interpretation."
“Good Morning America” will be using some of these animations as part of their program on the Badlands during their special broadcast on the Seven Wonders of America during the week of May 12th. A panel of experts created a list of places of both natural and manmade wonders within the 50 states that families, friends and people from around the world should visit and experience.
